mini getaway

pictures of 2012 thus far...

mr. taylor and i are enjoying the last of our adventure surrounded by a nice roaring fire, a bowl of ice cream in hand, and blasting some good ol' glee soundtracks. for the past two days we have relaxed in a quaint tiny town in idaho, right on the border of montana. we've been getting our reading on, movie watching, lots of walks, lots of great "townie" food, and of course skiing. now i must admit, i have not been skiing since i was seven years old. and being surrounded by basic pros...well, you could say it was not a pretty sight. but i got my groove on and rocked that bunny hill like nobody's business. and the hubs was a good sport and acting as my safety net all the way down. yes, i'm one of those who 'pizza' and 'pretzels' slowly all the way down (ski lingo). i don't like going fast, i don't like hard. just give me the quick and easy.

so far i have been kicking 2012's bootah!

  14. The last time I went skiing was in highschool with some friends. I took the ski lift up to an 'easy' slope and ended up walking down because I was too afraid to ski down (it was so embarassing!)

So far it looks like you are starting the new year right!!!

  16. I am the same way with skiing! I had a bad fall once and just can't seem to get back into the grove of things. I even side stepped the whole way down once because I got too scared!

  29. I imagine that I would be a spitting image of you on the slopes. I have never been skiing and have never been coordinated in that fashion so I'm sure I would be a turtle going down.

    Glad you are enjoying yourself.

  32. I'm so happy for you and your hubs that you are getting all this relaxing time together! I hope that mine and Ryan's lives slow down a little bit soon so that we can get some R&R and a weekend getaway! :)

I can only imagine what pizzas and pretzels means. I have no skiing experience whatsoever, and no idea what the lingo is. Anytime we go to the slopes with our church, I convince hubby to go tubing with me because I'm terrified of skiing. Or terrified of looking silly while skiing. I'm not sure which one it really is.
