Happy Friday readers! I'm sorry if I have been neglecting your emails and blogs, these past two weeks have been a busy one walking along all of Munich and seeing the sights and attractions that it has to offer. So much so that I've totally run holes in the bottom of the soles of my favorite boots. Curses!! I promise I have been taking pictures, unfortunately not as many as I was hoping though (I guess I'm just busy soaking in every bit of history). I may not be consistant on here for a while but you can find me on my Instagram, so make sure to follow me there!
Today we have the lovely San Francisco lady, Jessica from Team Wiking. This lovely gem of a sponsor is definitely one to make sure to spend your weekend getting to know! From her incredible photography, beautiful children and drop dead looks, make sure to head on over to her site and say hello after this interview!

Okay, I have literally just experienced one of the most romantic places I have ever been to in my entire life! Of course Eric had to be at work during this momentous occasion, so I ventured the half an hour walk to Nymphenburg Palace myself, and boy I'm SO happy I did. I didn't pay to go inside of the palace buildings. Instead I opted to walk for 3 hours around the property (which showed me maybe half of what it all had to offer). There were a hundred different paths you could walk on that would lead you to one incredible thing after another. A beautiful manmade waterfall, sculptures upon sculptures, bridges, other "smaller" castle buildings, churches, colosseums, you name it. And don't even get me started on the swans, they were everywhere!! I'm telling you, this place is magical. I had to put my camera away after a while because the amount of photos I took was kind of ridiculous, but these were some of my faves. Enjoy!
And a very happy birthday to my baby sister! Happy 20th Katherine Louise!!

Warning! You are about to be slapped in the face with an absurd amount of pictures of the same castles over and over again. You've been warned ...

We've been in Germany now for a little over a week, and boy how time flies! I feel like Eric and I have seen so much already that it surprises me that there could possibly be more! I'm telling you Europe, you have got a treasure here for sure! Castles, history, great food, incredible fashion. It will be hard to leave you next week!

Over the weekend the mister and I hit up some of the most touristy things you can do in these parts: tour the Neuschwanstein & Hohenschwangau Castles, visit the Dachau Concentration Camp and walk around the Deutsches Museum. More on those last two later. Let's get to these beauties found above. We arrived in the quaint town of Füssen by train and then hoped a bus over to our location. The weather could not have been more fairy tale like (is that even a real phrase?). The fog was so picturesque, although we were a little afraid while we were hiking up that we wouldn't be able to get a great photo. Luckily the clouds positioned themselves properly and we got our picture (or maybe 50). I'm telling you these photos do not do them justice. If only we were aloud to take pictures inside!! I mean, there is even a cave in the Neuschwanstein Castle. It doesn't get more disney then that people! As you walk around the rooms you hear the stories of King Ludwig II of Bavaria; his childhood, his upbringing, his personal life and struggles, his inspiration for the castle, all the way to his mysterious death. I feel like I could hear them over and over again. The best part, however, is when you reach the merchandise room. What? Why do they have something like that inside? Too funny! If you ever travel to this area, we highly recommend using this company for your guided tour, ask for Jonathan. Our guide was super funny and knew the ins and outs of the rooms we didn't get to tour as well as so much knowledge on King Ludwig. Plus, it didn't hurt that he had a dreamy British accent and looked just like Prince William! (when he still had hair that is...) Just saying ::winks::

Day 1

We're here and alive, and Europe is beautiful! We flew to Germany on Sunday from Seattle and arrived in Munich early Monday morning. Essentially Sunday never existed in my book, and side note: someone really needs to create a time travel machine so I never have to experience 13+ hours of being on a plane. I was not a happy camper. But I feel like this being my first time having jet lag and coping with a large time difference gap I'm handling it well. Eric and I made a deal that once we landed we would have a very short nap and stay awake until at least 9 o'clock that night. We made it to 9:15 and woke up bright and early this morning at 6AM. In just 24 hours we have already explored so much history and beautiful scenery: Marienplatz, Feldherrnhalle, Hofgarten, Theatinerkirche, Frauenkirche, Englischer Garten (mental note, nudity is apparently welcomed), Ludwigstrasse (which included Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Ludwigskirche, Siegestor, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München), Asamkirche, Münchner Residenz, Prinz-Carl-Palais, Haus der Kunst. Yes, my feet are killing me! As a pat on the back to me for exploring so much, somehow figuring out the transit system here, and walking around six hours straight I'm taking it easy today, editing photos, eating some good bread, resting, reading, anything that involves sitting really. Eric is currently at work just outside of town, so proud of him! It's hard adjusting to a whole new culture, and not really understanding the language (and when I say not really I mean none what so ever). We got yelled at yesterday when we tried to sit down outside of a cafe (at least I think she was yelling). It was upsetting but I'm telling myself she was talking to the people behind us...
The people are beautiful, fashionable, talk SUPER fast. I remember everyone saying that the fashion in Europe is different than America but they couldn't really explain how. I now understand and currently stick out like a sore thumb. Everyone here in Germany, you are rockin' it.
Okay, I'm off to take a quick nap. I'm sure I'm forgetting so much but I figure I have a few weeks of Germany left to share more!! If you know of any hidden gems, have food / restaurant recommendations let me know by emailing me or leaving comments below!!

This is it! As you are reading this the mister and I are in the air on our way to Munich. This will be my first time ever in Europe and I just can't control my excitement! We plan to explore as much as we can during Eric's off time working. People watching, learning history, the architecture, the language, the food. I can not wait to soak it all in and become more cultured! All my German friends, make sure to say hello! Until then, expect LOTS of pictures in the near future ...

Germany here we come!
