This year is quickly coming to an end and I could not be more excited! There is just magic in the air telling me that 2013 is going to be the best year yet, full of adventures, traveling, partnerships, wedding invitations, and a lot of firsts for the mister and I. I don't know about you but 2012 was a pretty rough year for me. So I'm thinking the universe owes me one. But I guess it's also unfair of me to say that 2012 was all bad. It definitely had it's up times, and here are some of those moments in a nutshell:

Starting off the year finding these life changing and inspiring words.
Working the Sundance Film Festival and meeting Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Love is all around.
Discovering this hairstyle.
Seeing my first giraffe in person. I may have cried of excitement...
Moving back to Seattle.
Falling in love with Wallace on the fourth of July.
Celebrating our one year anniversary.
Co-Creating Den of Thieves with the baby-sister-in-law.
Floating at the lake.
Celebrating Grandpa's 90th birthday.
Enjoying the last of summer with a hike.
Gavi's success.
Coming clean with my sin of comparison.
Allison getting engaged.

What were your best's of 2012?

Here are some left over favorites from our trip to the Columbia Tower.

One of my favorite gifts from Christmas was my new fisheye lens for my iPhone. I've been using that bad boy every since. And when the Taylor family decided to head out to Seattle for some Thai food and Columbia Tower site-seeing I knew I had to bring it along. I loved walking around the top of the building, looking out and reminiscing about places the mister and I share memories - the place where we graduated, where we had our first "official" date,  etc. Sorry to say, but I really do live in the best city in the world! If you're ever in town make sure to go to the top of the Columbia Tower for some great views!

In the meantime, we're off to the Taylor family cabin for the weekend. Can't wait for tons of playtime in the snow, building snowmen, snowmobiling, late night movie watching, and exploring the little town of Leavenworth. Can't wait to get back into full blogging mode come the new year!! Happy weekend!

Sorry for my absence the past few days! The holidays have been keeping me busy, and that is just what I needed. I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas, spending time with families, enjoying the beautiful lights and eating lots of good food. I'm happy to report that I haven't made one single meal since last Saturday and I've been relishing in a dish free sink (Merry Christmas to me!!). Today I'm off with the family to explore everything Seattle has to offer and tomorrow - fingers crossed - we'll be up at the cabin playing in the mounds of snow and walking around pretty Leavenworth. So while I'm away we have the lovely Rosie from Cider with Rosie. This darling English girl is just about the sweetest, with a handsome boyfriend and just the cutest dog to match! Make sure to check out her site and see all the fun adventures and scrumptious food she eats along the way!

Happy Christmas Eve! I can't believe we made it. Last week was pretty rough I was beginning to think this day would never come. But here it is and I could not be more excited! If you follow me on instagram then you know my weekend was filled with gingerbread houses, temple dates, family visits, scrumptious food, and wrapping presents. Today we are taking family pictures for the Christmas card (don't judge that we are so far behind), watching holiday movies, visiting with friends, going out to dinner, doing a Taylor family Target tradition buying each other silly gifts for $5.00, and ending the night at my families Christmas Eve service by candlelight. Then it's off to bed so Santa can make all the magic happen and bring the best day of the year! Merry Christmas!

What are your Christmas Eve traditions?

What are some of your favorites?

Two years ago today this boy got down on one knee and asked to spend forever with me. I'll never forget that moment in the sand in the pouring rain. There are hundreds of reasons why I love this guy of mine, but here are my top five as of late. 1. I love how we have been falling asleep holding hands. 2. I love how we take every romantic moment and turn it into laughter. 3. I love how you come up with all the best date night ideas. 4. I love that you never complain when I don't want to make dinner and we turn to cereal instead. 5. And I love that when I have my freak out moments you know just what to say to calm me down.

Happy two year engagement-versary! Can't wait for the new year and all the new adventures we have in store!

This weekend was just what I needed. I unplugged and headed up to the mister's family cabin for a night in the snow, just the two of us. We watched Home Alone movies, ate dinner at the best local diner, grabbed shakes and cuddled in the freezing weather, bundled up in layers and blankets. The next day we headed back home to catch "The Hobbit" at the IMAX. Not being a huge Lord of the Rings follower I was pleasantly surprised how fun this movie was, with just the right amount of humor. The weekend ended with a great service at church, dinner with my family and watching Love Actually with my mom. One of my favorite holiday movies!

What did you do this weekend?

Happy Friday readers! Less than 2 weeks until Christmas and I could not be more pumped! I asked the mister the other day what present he was most excited to give and he said the new bed we bought for my family dog. I suppose this says a lot about the rest of the presents he got for the family and myself...? Moving right along. Today we have the lovely Kendra from Little Almanac. This hot mama of two and history connoisseur is just too cute for words. Plus, she puts together the greatest little films of her and her family. And if that top picture doesn't give you the baby cravings I don't know what will! Make sure to spred the holiday cheer and head to her site after this interview!

The weather has been so hauntingly beautiful these past few days, filled with grey skies, misty rain fall and brisk air, that I have kept to myself lying on the couch next to the heater and having this playlist on repeat. There's nothing like listening to relaxing music next to the Christmas tree while taking a nap. I dare you to listen to this whole set and not succumb to a perfect state of bliss and relaxation.

A few weeks ago I wrote this post. To be honest when I first sat down and started to type I wasn't sure what was to come of it. I am not one to talk about myself, especially when it comes to my feelings. And opening up on a social network where some people feel free to judge and write cruel remarks about you and your life can be quite intimidating. But I was so happily overwhelmed by all of the empathy and support that I have been shown these past few weeks through emails, texts, phone calls, and comments. I've received a few messages these past few days from people wanting to know how I am doing. And to be honest, things like this don't heal quickly. It's a learning and growing process. Learning to really take the time to write out all of the things in your life that you are grateful for and realizing that those things are yours and no one else's. No one has the same family, friends, husband, and life as you. Those are yours to keep and treasure. Growing emotionally and knowing that we cannot allow ourselves to compare. As so many of you quoted, "comparison is the thief of joy". The second we liken ourselves to others, that is the moment that we loose focus on our precious treasures and allow them to no longer shine in our eyes. I would never want to make my family and friends feel as though they are not worthy, special or important. So these past few weeks I've tried really hard to steer clear of staying "plugged in" for long periods of time. I have noticed that the longer I spend looking up others lives on blogs, pinterest and instagram have really contributed to my emotional downfall. Instead I have surrounded myself with family dinners, late night cuddles with the husband, happy Christmas movies, music, and wrapping all the presents I can't wait to give to the ones I love. I'm also heading to another music performance for the elderly come tomorrow and can't wait for that experience of joy again. It may seem simple but true, the more we focus on others and making their lives happy the more we attract happiness into our own lives.

What are your treasures that bring happiness into your life?

The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year. And if you are anything like me, it's also the time of year that your wanderlust kicks into gear. Traveling the world and seeing all the pretty decorations, the traditions, the music, snow fall. Here are the perfect gifts for those wanderlust friends (or maybe just for yourself).

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Happy Friday readers! This week has been pretty hectic with falling Christmas trees, last minute changes to work schedules, re-wrapping broken presents, coding blog designs, yada yada yada. But none of that will bring me down from this joyous season. I even got to walk those cute little ponies again that you all seemed to love!! Someone else I'm sure you are to love is this months first sponsor, Dashelle from Dashi Loupe. The top picture kind of sums her up all into one pretty bow - This New Zealand beauty is free spirited, gorgeous (obviously), and nerdy chic. She's also fulfilling my wanderlust desires as she preps to travel the world indefinitely. Make sure to spred the holiday cheer and head to her site after this interview!
