Eric and I have been taking advantage of this beautiful Summer weather by going on many hiking adventures. We usually stick to our 3 favorite spots, but this weekend we wanted to change things up a bit. After seeing so many pretty pictures from friends hikes up to Lake Serene I knew that would be our next destination. I had been dreaming about it all week! We called up some friends and planned for an early morning 4 mile trek up (like
straight up) and reward ourselves with a brisk, but pretty swim in the glaciers. The day started off pretty muggy and overcast. I swear, I had never sweat so much in my life on a hike before! Unfortunately the higher up we went the thicker the clouds got. Although we didn't get the views we were hoping for, the hike was so much fun and the clouds added their own ambiance to the experience. But don't you worry, I'm coming back for you Lake Serene! But fingers crossed for a clearer day.
So amazing pictures!!! :)

amazingness! my husband and i were hiking early summer but the bugs started to freak me out. but i miss it. the feeling of reaching the top is most rewarding!
ReplyDeleteTJ, I know you've told me where you're from before, but I have to know where these beautiful places are that you discover. There is absolutely NOTHING like that around Fort Worth and certainly not Nebraska. So, I definitely need to be visiting wherever it is you are. And you always capture it so beautifully. I always feel like I'm right there with you. You inspire me to take chances, and live adventurously! XOXO
ReplyDeleteWe live just outside of Seattle, and there are so many amazing places to hike around North Bend. If you ever come to visit you'll definitely want to check out Snow Lake, Rattlesnake Ledge and Lake Serene :)
