You oughta know - Hannah Adamaszek

Introducing Hannah Adamaszek, a UK based freelance artist from her self entitled shop HANNAH ADAMASZEK. After stumbling across her beautiful site a little over a week ago, I instantly craved to have one of her pieces hanging up in our new apartment. With the attention to detail in her female portraits and an eye for the perfect color palettes, she brings to life these captivating women who encompass boldness, beauty and strength. I predict Hannah is someone we should be watching out for in the artist world, and someone "you oughta know".

NAME: Hannah Adamaszek
AGE: 32
CITY: London, UK
CAREER: Artist
STYLE INSPIRATION: My style is stripped down to the basics, layering each process so that each one can be identified in one harmonious composition. I think I've always painted in the style I have now, its what came most naturally to me. I only fairly recently in the last 2 years started to use stencils as I felt it made the eyes softer and stronger, rather than when I was hand painting them. I was influenced a lot by punk when I was growing up, this teamed with my love of nature have really pulled my style together. It's more the subject in the painting that has changed over the years.

DESIGN INSPIRATION: A lot of my influences come from the great outdoors, nature is the greatest artist, so I try to use shapes or patterns that I gather - whether it be feathers or animals or plants. I attempt to capture the feeling of being in my paintings, a state of mind where the beauty and timelessness of the world come into sharp focus. I'm a huge jewelry fan, when I get any spare cash I splash out on it, and try to incorporate any jewelry that I love into my work. I collaborated with jewelry designer NF Jewelry and have painted in St. Eve Jewelry in the past. Coryn Madley is a huge inspiration, I love how she styles everything.
FAVORITE DESTINATIONS: I would choose anywhere with mountains. I'm not very good at doing the beach thing, I end up getting restless and going for a walk. There are so many places I haven't been yet. I've been keeping a Pinterest board of amazing places to visit one day. It would be a dream to get up and go see all of them. A friend went to South Africa, after seeing her photos I think that's next on my list.

SPARE TIME CHOICES: I love the outside, when I'm not painting I'm often found out running or biking in the forests. It would be a dream to live in the mountains with an art studio, running in the summer and skiiing in the winter.
NEXT BIG ADVENTURE: This year is another really exciting one. For my next big project I'm heading to Barcelona for my second Solo Show with Fousion Gallery in April. I'm planning on making a new body of work for this that's a little darker than my past work and have been planning already. There are a few more collaborations coming up that I've wanted to do for a long time. I've just started one today that I've wanted to get started on for weeks. I'm going to make this one last for ages because I know I'm going to love doing it so much. Plus a few more pieces in the streets and some events such as Femme Fierce and Stroke Artfair.
YOU OUGHTA KNOW: I once shipped a painting in a real rush and ended up putting a dirty sock in there, luckily I was sending it somewhere I was going and opened it myself. Now I make sure I'm never near any washing when I pack anything :)

Thanks Hannah! xx
