KAYAKING TO OUR PRIVATE ISLAND

This weekend consisted of all the things that I needed to get myself out of my little funk. Movie date nights with friends. Frisbee throwing fun at the park with new friends. Watching the love story of Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe, Anne of Green Gables, of course! If I'm ever sad or sick I go straight for this. Anyone else grow up having the biggest crush on Gil?!

We ended our weekend with a late afternoon kayak trip on the ocean and spent some time swimming off our own private little island we found as the sun was setting. With the humidity finally starting to break down here in Florida, we took in as much of this perfect weather as we could.

Don't mind the overload of pictures from our weekend kayaking trip down below!
*P.S. To those of you who asked, you can find the "Miami Heat" cap I am wearing here ;)
^^ Oh how that face of his makes we swoon.

  13. Awh, this does seem like something out of a book! Like one of those where they live by a private island, and so they'd spend their entire summer there building forts and playing pretend and whatnot... very romantic! :)

  18. Is it completely dorky of me to have the collection of Anne of Green Gables on VHS? I seriously just spent last weekend watching them too! Talk about such a cutie, I grew up determined to marry Gilbert. And HELLO handsome, I almost forgot how cute he had gotten in the continuing story! <3 (total dork moment!)

    1. OMG, I know! I have the collection on VHS too! Too bad it doesn't really work anymore since I watched it so much. I now rely on finding them online. Looks like I have to get myself the DVD collection now ;)
Also, yes, let's continue talking about Gilbert. LOVE!

Back home, my friends and I enjoy kayaking to this tiny island a little bit away (about an hour kayak ride each way) definitely a great work out and such an amazing adventure once we get there! Can't wait to do that when I go home in November! This place looks amazing - if I ever visit!

  51. I LOVED Gil too! He's a hunk! I didn't realize how many people love those movies as much as I do. I remember in 6th grade our teacher had us watch them and I was so excited and told the whole class how much I loved Anne of Green Gables. Then the bit about them being bosom friends came up and the guys in the class got weird about it and started making fun of me for liking them… haha. Still like them though.
