THE ROOT BEER STORE

It's been so cold and rainy here in Seattle the past few weeks so when the sun was finally shining over the weekend the mister and I had to take full advantage. We bundled ourselves up and took a stroll down to the lake trail. The lake was so still in the cold, with little patches of ice all around. So peaceful. We then headed off to The Root Beer Store in preparation for all the football games that were ahead of us. I'm not a big root beer fan, so I managed to snag myself an Orange Crush. That'll do.

Oh, and who can forget the Golden Globes and the Seahawks game. Seahawks deserved the win, hands down. And many congrats to Argo who landed on top. The movie was absolutely thrilling and very well made. For those who missed the show: everyone looked flawless, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt win cutest couple award, Kristen Bell needs to be pregnant all the time, Jodie Foster gave best speech, Lena Dunham needs Miss J lessons in heels (still adore her though), Jennifer Lawrence channeled Madonna, TSwift gave the stink eye to Adele's win, George Clooney is still hot, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were host perfection. All in all this weekend was pretty legendary (I hope you read that in your head as Barney Stinson would say it, because that was my intention).

What did you do this weekend?

  12. Sounds delightful. The Root Beer Store looks like fun! We don't have anything like that where I live in the UK. We had a date night on Friday that ended up taking up Saturday morning too (watching the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice as one of my favourite films, watching Goodfellas as one of his) and then we chilled out, read lots, studied a little and watched the snow fall. It was nice :)

  13. I wish I had a soda shop here in Indy! That would be so cool! Here in Indy they are starting in a lot of grocery stores the mix-in-match 6 pack of beer (you choose 6 or whatever diff beers for one low cost). It is pretty cool. I have never seen a frozen lake before. That would be an experience. I love your Seahawks so that win was exciting! But i'm not an award show watcher. I know good film when I see it. And I don't really care what any of them wear. I know I know! "What kind of girl are you?" I still do not have an answer to that question. Haha!

  40. We had a place here in AZ called Pop the Soda Shop for a while. It seems pretty similar to this root beer store. It went out of business and made me so sad! MY favorite find there was High Mountain Huckleberry Soda bottled by Jackson Hole Soda Co. Luckily we've been able to find it at BevMo since they closed. Another favorite is birch beer. Sioux City makes a good one. Worth checking out if you can find someone who sells them in your area :)

  41. I would LOVE to go to a rootbeer store! Yum! Sorry you are not a root beer fan, though... you are missing out ;)

  42. The Seahawks game just about have me a heart attack, and while I'm sad that we won't move on to the next game, I'm so proud of their amazing season! Everyone thought they wouldn't make it that far and they proved them wrong. I made a quick trip to Seattle this weekend, had a girls night where we got out hair did and drank wine. It was a pretty awesome weekend!
