HAPPY

It's no secret that this month has been a hard one on me. With multiple car troubles, break-ins, house maintenance issues (you know, all the little things that seem to get under our skin), September has not treated me well. But when I saw this trailer on A Cup Of Jo yesterday I got excited. Its a documentary that makes you really reflect on what makes you happy. Many of which ultimately come down to the little things in life: family, friends and helping those in need. My list of things that make me happy are morning work outs, night time cuddles on the couch before bed, and capturing little moments in time through photographs. And when my Mom invites us over to dinner for my favorite home cooked meal. Those are good too! I highly recommend you watch this documentary. Found on Netflix!

What are some things that make you happy?

  12. I love this post. I’ve had a rough week, and I have been trying to stay focused on the positive (to me: a giant blanket, a rented movie, popcorn, a glass of red wine & surrounded by girlfriends) - my night last night, and it was so simple and turned my mood around! Love this video...

I'm sorry September has been such a dang kill joy for you. That is miserable.

Happiness? I find it in small things lately.. because I have to. A phone call with my best friend who lives across the country.. Sugar Cookies.. The change in temperature.. you know.. simple things. Signing up for a 5K and knowing it will be over in 5 weeks, THAT MAKES ME HAPPY. Your ninja turtle party still makes me happy.

  40. girl...I couldn't have read this post at a better time. This week has been a week from H@LL!! I feel like I am being pulled in a million directions.. at work and outside of work. I even had a mini meltdown yesterday.
But, posts like these..remind me how BLESSED I am. And that I have SO MANY things to be happy about.
Some of my happy moments: sand volleyball league, happy hour, girls nights out, and last but not least ... my FWB.
    hahahahah
thanks for the pick me up sweetness!

  42. Great reccommendation, such an inspirational hour. It's important to watch but also share. Many people don't view happiness as an intentional effort, which is a shame. I'll be sharing this video with friends for sure :)

  46. I love your list of happy things! I need to watch this entire documentary, because I found the first few minutes really interesting and I think it's such a cool topic.

My happy list is long walks with my husband and our dog, outdoor dinner & drinks at our favorite restaurant, waking up to snuggling, and seeing the world together. Also, my job makes me pretty darn happy. At the last wedding I photographed (with the fantastic New Zealand bride, whose accent was to die for!) we got to go on a hayride and it was the most surreal moment... like, I get paid to do this. So awesome.

and hmm, on my list of happy things....early morning bike rides, homemade breakfasts, and random kisses are top on my list this month :)
