GOING BLACKBERRY PICKING

Yesterday was filled with giggles, "airplane" rides, cuddles, lots of lovely food, and a spontaneous journey of blackberry picking on the local trail with the mister. Possibly my favorite day in a long time. It's all about the simple things with the ones you love.

Now who wants to send me a very simple blackberry pie recipe for me to try out ::winks:

  14. So adorable!! Seriously - the easiest fresh berry pie is a galette. Either make a simple homemade pie dough, or use frozen. Thaw if needed, roll/put it on a cookie sheet (with sides if you have one, but you don't have to). Toss your berries with a bit of sugar and a tiny bit of cornstarch, and heap in the center of the dough circle. Fold up the edges so the fruit peeps through in the center (google "galette" to see a pic) and bake at 425 for 25-30min. This is my favorite way to make fruit pie. :)

  15. Oh my goodness. I read your title, and I thought you meant like, cellphones. I was all "She picked out a new blackberry to use?"

...And that's my queue to get off the internet and go outdoors. Kthx.

  55. AMAZING!!! Let me know if you don't get a recipe, I have one...
Blackberries are something I actually have to eat everyday...going through surgical menopause at the age of 33, was so hard on me, ...but in my research on how to live with it, i learned that blackberries are the best thing for women in menopause! Anyway, that's me and blackberries;)
So glad it was such a "sweet" day for you!

  67. You are so right, it's all about the simple things with the one you love. There is seriously nothing better. It's so wonderful to be so in love! Cuddle time is the best, it never seems to get old. I'm pretty jealous that you go to go blackberry picking. I've never done anything like that before. The closest I've got is going to a farmer's market. That doesn't even count at all. Haha. Ohhhh blackberry pie sounds amazing! I picked up a mini blackberry cobbler on the way home yesterday. It's for sure one of my favorites. I'm sure you can find a great recipe on pinterest. Kind of making my mouth water now. Haha.

  89. I love blackberries! They go great with cheesecake, I like to make a raspberry/blackberry cheesecake. But I only have the recipe in Swedish, I don't think that would help you a lot :) But just make a regular strawberry cheesecake and switch out the strawberries for blackberries :)

    Have a lovely weekend!
