little lessons learned as of late

not bringing your phone when out on dates helps you direct all your attention on what's important.
stripes and polka dots will never go out of style.
with a salad, any meal feels complete.
journal every great memory and inspiring thought. you'd be surprised how much you look back on it.
finding a furnished apartment is a lot harder than you think.
a strawberry cheesequake is the best DQ blizzard, hands down.
meg ryan movies heal all things. always.

happy friday.
have any fun plans for this weekend?

  8. You look adorable in that shop snap!

With no phone, how will you instagram??

I do believe that phones should not be used when out with a few friends unless you state it & put it away as soon as possible. May as well not even get together if you're on your phone the whole time huh!

  16. Ahh, furnished apartments are so hard to come by! Good luck finding one!

  17. I kinda-sorta dislike my phone and try to avoid using it at virtually all costs; I use it sparingly and mostly for texts. Then again, this might have something to do with the fact that I use my husband's oldish and simple Sony Ericsson, so if I had an iPhone I would probably use it a lot more, heh.

I ADORE stripes and polka dots, and am thinking of teaming them. Yup! I'm not usually a mixing patterns kinda gal, but MAAAAAN those two look good together, whether as a striped top and polka dot skirt or vice-versa.

I agree that a salad completes a meal. For example? If I'm eating deliiiiicious spaghetti bolognese? I have to have a nice green salad to go with it.

And yes, Meg Ryan is THE SHIZZ. Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally...there's something so comforting about her movies.

Finally, fingers crossed you guys find a furnished apartment!

Is it a problem that I can pretty much quote the entire script from You've Got Mail? And yes, I do mean from the beginning of the credits to the ending credits...

  62. the first line is a good idea. lately I have found myself so obsessed with messaging, email, twitter, instagram, games etc which is starting to create a real distraction when around others. Simply not bringing it is such a good way to focus on the people around you, and test your strength and patience haha!
