thanksgiving-ness #2

it's now been just over two months since i've made the big move out to utah from seattle, and although i adore being here with my hubby, there are a few things i am missing back home. sometimes it takes being away from something for you to know how much it means to you. this day i am just so thankful for my great friends. and although we do not talk as much as i would like, i just want you all to know how special you are to me. and this particular day i am missing my two besties the most.

kimberly - my twin. i am so grateful to have been best friends with you for over 15 years now. i am thankful that i found someone who is just as obsessed with MK&A movies as much as me. i am thankful that you have put up with all of my shenanigans throughout my off periods. i am thankful that you had a big enough imagination to keep up with mine. i'm grateful for our awesome singing career that lasted for .5 seconds (summer heat, summer wind). i'm thankful that you secretly met up with me at the park at one o'clock in the morning to give back my teddy bear i had so carelessly left at your house after our sleepover when we were 11 years old.

gavrielle - my lover. i am so grateful that we both came into each others lives right when we really needed someone. i'm thankful that we are able to sit in the same spot for 3 hours and talk about anything and everything. i'm grateful that we both have a passion for music and artsy movies. i'm grateful that we both have big dreams and aren't afraid to have them. i'm thankful to know that no matter what you will always be on my side, and everyone else can be wrong, ha.

i love you girls, and today i am thankful for the two of you!!
what are you thankful for this day?

  10. Dear, this post just echoed what I am feeling and thinking right now. I think I´ve mentioned to you before, I´ve just moved in Germany to join my hubby, and i still don´t have friends around other than his girl friends whom I spend some time with only during his brithday. Tonight hubby goes out for some guys night and I´m left alone feeling so lonely and missing my girlfriends back in Bangkok. :)

  11. It's difficult when you live in one place and your best friends in another. My 3 closest friends all moved away recently, and while I am grateful we're still good friends, I do miss them a lot.

  28. I love this :) First off, I was obsessed with the Olsen twins when I was young as well! I mean...really who wasn't?! I smiled so big when you called your friend Gavrielle "lover." One of my best friends, her name is Arielle (so similar) and that is my name for her too!

What a blessing to have these wonderful ladies! you're the sweetest!

  31. I moved from Vancouver, WA (just a few hours south of seattle!) to Utah just over 3 years ago, so I totally feel you! Anywhere my husband (and little boy) is, I'm home. But that doesn't stop me from missing washington and the family and friends there. Your friends sound like great girls :)
