i AM because

when the hubs is away, the retainers come out to play.
oh, and came across this beauty of an idea on Casey Leigh and had to join in on the fun! i AM because...

i am weird because...
i despise the sight, sound and smell of gum
i am deathly afraid of cats
i'm 23 and still love disney channel
i enjoy re-enacting cheesy soap show scenes to the extreme
i still believe nsync will get back together someday

i am a bad friend because...
i have become an annoying homebody
i never return phone calls in a reasonable amount of time
i let some of you go without trying
i never have enough money to buy you any cool presents
sometimes i never am open enough with my feelings

i am a good friend because...
i am the best listener
and because i give pretty good advice (if i do say so myself)
i want all of my friends to succeed
i am loyal and trustworthy
i remember all our best memories

i am sad because...
money troubles seem to consume my thoughts
mr. taylor leaves me all too often
i haven't made very many friends out here in Utah and it gets quite lonely
i miss my family back in WA daily
i miss having lunch dates at sushiland and panera bread

i am happy because...
i am married to my very best friend
i have a roof over my head and a fridge full of food
i have a new family to keep me company during this holiday season
i just adore writing on this blog every day and reading your beautiful comments
it's the time of hot chocolate, fuzzy slippers and fire places

i am excited for...
first holidays with my hubby
watching and listening to everything christmas
making my first appetizers for thanksgiving festivities as a wife
heading home for the holidays
christmas pajamas
creating new family traditions
mistletoe
happy reunions with friends
fireworks
a new year

p.s. want to see an old family portrait of me in my ballet attire? go and check out Gentri Lee. yay!

  4. We have far too many things in common.
    To name a few:
I'm so happy you share my hate for gum. I once let this information leak out to a high school teacher. She then decided to have kids in the class throw a bunch of gum and wrappers at me. It was a horrible experience. just horrible.
As for it being lonely, i just moved to a new part of AZ and it is very lonely. You're lucky to have your husband to keep you company :]
    Have a GREAT holiday!

  5. I CAN BE YOUR FRIEND IN UTAH! granted i am 18, i don't know if you play with the little leaguers, but age is just a number, right? we could go to Guru's, sammy's, all of the hot spots to fill your panera needs (i SO know what you mean) and can we go to Cafe Rio too? because i need to fill my craving weekly, if not daily. Oh, and if you need someone to watch Disney with, i'm your girl.

  6. Girl I don't live near a Panera anymore either....it pains me. Literally pains me. Boo for our men leaving us all too often! At least we have each other and the blog world!! :) Love you girl!

  9. Haha, I love this post. I'm pretty sure I am afraid of cats, too. Maybe not deathly afraid, but definitely afraid.

My hubby and I are getting ready to have all of our first holidays as a married couple too! It's so exciting and it's like it holds so many new opportunities for new traditions and things. :)

  14. Very cute post. I have some of the same habits/bad habits but I think it's just something everyone goes through. My hubby has been working 6 days a week and has only been home 1 or 2 times to actually sleep in our bed. It's really rough to have to be alone but make sure you get out of the house a few times and it'll help!

  15. I love the disney channel, and no one else appreciates it at all. I miss sushi and panera too, because I refuse to eat any sort of fish in a landlocked state. and we can reminisce about washington together. cause i miss it too! I feel like these are all good qualifiers for us being utah friends.

  16. Great post TJ :) It's nice to be open and honest every once in awhile huh? The perks of blogging! See you tomorrow!

  17. That sucks being so far from your family and I've become an annoying homebody too. I need to get out of that rut.

P.S. Nsync will get back together.

  20. I know how that is, moving to Utah and not having many friends to start off with, it's really hard, especially with not a lot of fam here either.
When I was first here I missed my fam back in Cali so so so much, but once you get into your groove and your group of friends here it's AWESOME.
My husby leaves me alot for work, I'm up here in Orem, so give me a holler for a Cafe Rio or Zupas lunch. Orrrr cause I'm poor newlywed too, we can have pb&js and invite friends over. :)

  21. Oh my gosh I love this! I, too, love the Disney channel! Well, Disney anything. I may copy this idea down the road. :)

  23. TJ i loved this! felt like I got to know you a bit better :) And we have a lot in common! :) I enjoy some good Disney channel time too...I never used to be, but over the last couple years have become a total homebody and am okay with it...but I do love getting out with friends (which is NOT very often because I don't have many friends here in UT either...even after 3 years) and I miss my fam in WA all the time...and i'm SO excited for holidays with family and mistletoe and Christmas pjs!!! :)

hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend!! please tell me Mr. Taylor will be back in time! :)

  24. Hahaha. The Disney channel. Clearly this makes me weird too. ;)

  25. You don't like the smell of gum?? haha thats funny! When I first moved to Utah I felt the same way, it was tough to be away from family and have to make all new friends! Luckily there are a lot of young marrieds out there, and your so cute I am sure you won't have any issues with making new friends!
